As temperatures heats up to two or three times more in the Arctic, many researchers believe that can lead to frigid temperatures in the continental U.S. From frozen noodles, hair, helmets, these ‘cold-wave’ of climate change have claimed at least 21 people alone this January. Polar Vortex is likely caused by frost quakes or "cryoseisms,” which occur “when water trapped underground freezes suddenly as the temperature drops.

The extreme cold has stooped as low as 51 degrees below zero in Chicago minus 49 in Minneapolis.

You can literally freeze yourself during Polar Vortex. A University of lowa student was found apparently frozen to death on Wednesday; a 38-year-old woman found frozen in her home where the thermostat had malfunctioned in Milwaukee.
