Ravichandran Ashwin, skipper of Kings XI Punjab won the toss and asked the opposition to have a bat first. Both Lynn and Narine started off in fine fashion and hammered the ball all around the ground. However, Lynn was the first one to dismiss.
Narine made a quick-fire 24 runs off just 9 deliveries. His innings was laced with three mighty sixes and and one four. He hammered at an astonishing strike-rate of 266.67.
Robin Uthappa registered yet another fifty as he played the anchor's role which eventually helped the team to score 218 runs on the board.
If ever any of the eight franchise get an opportunity to get Andre Russell play for their side, they would welcome him with open arms. Yes, the way Russell is playing at the moment, KKR can bank him to do the job on almost every occasion. In the game against KXIP, he contributed both with bat and ball to help his side win their second game of the tournament.
Gayle's wicket probably changed the course of the game. He started in a fine fashion but just couldn't replicate Jaipur's effort, eventually letting Punjab to be in trouble.
Wickets kept tumbling for Kings XI Punjab, and only good thing happened to them was Miller and Mayank's effort, but that was just not enough.
(Andre) Russell, (Nitish) Rana and Robbie (Uthappa) – the ‘RRR’ troika, played sensationally well in the game to hand over the Knights with a 28-run victory at the iconic Eden Gardens.
