ISRO launches GSLV-F08/GSAT-6A from Sriharikota; All you need to know Live

New Delhi:

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched the GSLV-F08/GSAT-6A satellite on Thursday from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The launch was conducted from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 16.56 hours.

The countdown for the mission started at 13.56 hours on Wednesday following clearance from the Mission Readiness Review committee and Launch Authorisation Board, ISRO said.

About ISRO's GSLV-F08 mission:

# It weights about 415.6 ton GSLV rocket measuring 49.1 metre tall.

# GSAT-6A satellite will be put into orbit around 17 minutes after the rocket's liftoff.

# It will provide a platform for developing technologies such as demonstration of 6m S-Band Unfurlable Antenna, handheld ground terminals and network management techniques. 

# The GSAT-6A would be followed by the launch of navigation satellite which will be in the next fiscal.
