New Delhi:
British astronaut Tim Peake along with his crew members landed on Earth marking the end of six-month journey on International Space Station ISS on Saturday. A Soyuz capsule carrying Major Peake and Russia's Yury Malenchenko and NASA's Tim Kopra touched down in Kazakhstan after spending 186 days in orbit.
Peake made the first spacewalk by a British astronaut and also remotely steered a robot on Earth. Peake becomes the first person to visit space under the British banner since Helen Sharman in 1991.
While aboard ISS, Tim and crew conducted scientific research in biology, biotechnology and science. “It was incredible. The best ride I've ever been on," said Major Peake, shortly after being lifted out of the capsule by medical crews, along with his colleagues. "Truly amazing. A life-changing experience.”
He also admitted that he is gonna miss the earth view but also expressed his wish to see his family. Staying for longer periods in space may lead to many bodily changes including muscle loss, weightlessness, eroded bone density and so on.
