PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 launch rescheduled to THIS date

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Thursday said that the launch of PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 has been postponed to November 27, 2019. Originally, the PSLV-C47 was supposed to be launched on November 25, 2019.

In a tweet, ISRO said, “The launch of PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 scheduled on November 25, 2019 at 0928 hrs is rescheduled to launch on November 27, 2019 at 0928 hrs from Second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota.”

It is to be noted that the PSLV-C47 mission to launch the Cartosat-3 satellite will be the 21st flight of India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle in ‘XL’ configuration (with 6 solid strap-on motors).

PSLV-C47 will carry 13 commercial nano-satellites from the United States of America as part of a commercial arrangement with New Space India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space. Some of the benefits of this mission would be weather mapping, cartography or army defence, and strategic applications.

Cartosat-3 satellite is a third-generation agile advanced satellite having high-resolution imaging capability. The satellite will be placed in an orbit of 509 km at an inclination of 97.5 degree, says ISRO.
