New Delhi:
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday launched 31 satellites from different countries on a single mission.
Of the 31 satellites launched, one was India’s 100th satellite Cartosat 2 (earth observation satellite) which has been placed into sun-synchronous orbit.
The satellites were onboard India’s trusted workhorse Polar Launch Satellite Vehicle (PSLV).
A day after the launch, ISRO has released a video of the entire process of the satellite launch, shot by an onboard camera.
The video shows the entire lift-off process along with the process of placing all the 31 satellites into the orbits.

In the video, the PSLV-C40 is seen placing the Cartosat-2 series satellite into sun-synchronous orbit. After that 30 other smaller satellites are placed one by one.
Cartosat-2 satellite is being dubbed as India’s eye across the border as it will keep a close vigil on India’s ‘hostile’ neighbours.
Pakistan has protested the launch of Cartosat-2.
Apart from Cartosat-2, a British satellite was also placed in the orbit. The satellite will be operated by the Guildford-based company Earth-I and acquire full-colour, high-definition video of the surface of the Earth.
