New Delhi:

India have bagged another gold by thrashing Nigeria 3-0 in the team events of men’s table tennis final on Monday at the 2018 Gold Coast Games.

The men’s stunning victory came after Indian women’s table tennis team claimed the gold after pulling off a massive upset by defeating Singapore on Sunday.

The final kicked off with Indian star Sharath Kamal defeated Bode Abiodun in a four-game match, where he lost the first game 4-11 but made a remarkable comeback to win the next three games 11-5, 11-4 and 11-9.

In the second game, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won in a four-game match as well. The-25-year old then returned in the final game to partner Harmeet Desai and won the match 11-8, 11-5 and 11-3.

India’s medal tally is already a massive improvement at the Gold Coast Games after its disappointing show at Glasgow four years ago, when they won just a silver medal in men’s doubles event.
