New Delhi:

The England skipper, Eoin Morgan has been suspended for one ODI and fined 40 percent of the match fee, while the other players have been fines 20 percent of their respective match fees for maintaining a slow over rate during the third encounter against Pakistan.

England were two overs late even after time allowance was taken into consideration. In accordance with Article 2.22.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount. Morgan was previously found guilty of a minor over rate offence during the Barbados ODI against West Indies.

Meanwhile, England's wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct also during the Bristol ODI, and one point has been added against his disciplinary record. The incident occurred in the 29th over of England's innings, when the 'keeper-batsman struck the stumps with his bat after being dismissed.

The charges were laid by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Paul Reiffel, and third umpire Chris Gaffaney. Bairstow admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Richie Richardson.

The fourth ODI between two teams will be played at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham on May 17. The final encounter before the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup will be played in Headingly in Leeds. Meanwhile, the series stands in favour of England as the scoreline shows 2 games to 0.

Both team will look to keep all odds aside and try the remaining combination before the head into the World Cup. For Pakistan, the limelight will once again shift to Shadab Khan, who is all set to return after illness. Further, Mohammad Amir’s inclusion is still under doubt, and with seven days still on his side, he will look to express him at the supreme best to fix his berth.

England, on the other hand, needs to see whether they are backing Jofra Archer for the World Cup or they are seeing beyond him. All questions will find answers in seven days’ time.
