Pakistan inflict 180 run crushing defeat on India in Champions Trophy final

New Delhi:

Pakistan played in a scintillating manner and defeated India by a huge margin of 180 runs in the grand finale of the Champions Trophy. Pakistan scored a massive 338 runs for the loss of 4 wickets which was a tough ask for India. In reply, India was all out for 158 runs as all their batsmen failed.

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and had invited Pakistan to bat on a placid track at the Oval.

Put into bat Pakistan scored a mammoth 338 runs in their allotted fifty overs. Pakistan was provided with the opening salvo by their aggressive opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali.

Fakhar Zaman decimated the Indian bowlers to all corners of the ground to score his maiden ODI century. The young left-hander was given ample support by fellow opener Azhar Ali and later on by seasoned campaigners Babbar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez. Mohammad Hafeez then played a quickfire cameo to step up the scoring rate with all-rounder Imad Wasim.

The Indian batsmen on the other hand faced too much pressure from the beginning and were all out for 158 runs. Pakistan's bowlers choked them for runs and gave ample breakthroughs for their team to spice up the victory.
