Two powerhouses of limited overs cricket shall lock horns on the cricketing field when India takes on Australia in the five match one day series which commences with the first ODI at Chennai from Sunday.
Virat Kohli led 'Men in Blue' are high on confidence after trouncing Sri Lanka 5-0 in their own backyard in recently concluded series. Meanwhile the Aussies would pose a serious challenge to India at home given their strength in both batting and bowling.The Aussies led by their prolific run scorer Steven Smith are a formidable one day side given their record in ODIs.
Australia, on the other hand, leveled two-match Test series against Bangladesh before landing on the shores India. Meanwhile, Australia defeated Indian Board President’s XI by 103 runs in their warm-up match. The Steve Smith-led side will be hoping to put up a good show in the upcoming series.
Australia, the current world champions are placed second in the ICC ODI rankings behind South Africa. On the other hosts India, placed third, made it to the final of ICC Champions Trophy recently and have been a force to reckon with in ODIs since their 2011 ICC World Cup triumph.
