Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor also smashed some valuable knocks as New Zealand reached 219/6, the joint second-highest total for a side in this format against India. In response, India never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner picked up wickets as India suffered their heaviest defeat in terms of runs in this format as New Zealand took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
