New Delhi:

India won the toss and chose to bat in the final ODI in Wellington and they got off to a disastrous start as they lost Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni and Shubman Gill cheaply. It took a 98-run stand between Vijay Shankar and Ambati Rayudu to steady the innings. Vijay Shankar was run-out for 45 but Rayudu batted brilliantly, going past his 10th fifty and he looked good for a century. He shared yet another fifty-plus stand with Kedar Jadhav but Matt Henry took four wickets as Rayudu was denied a century. However, Hardik Pandya smashed 45 off 22 balls including five sixes as India reached 252 in Wellington. In response, New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals and despite some solid knocks from Kane Williamson and Tom Latham, New Zealand struggled. An attacking 44 from James Neesham needed some brilliant work from MS Dhoni and New Zealand lost by 35 runs, losing the five-match series 1-4. (SCORECARD)

All over. Bhuvneshwar bowls a short ball and Trent Boult upper-cuts it to third man where the fielder takes the catch. India win the Wellington ODI by 35 runs and win the five-match series 4-1. What a phenomenal achievement by Rohit Sharma and his side. India have sealed their first series win in New Zealand after 10 years.

Matt Henry smashes two sixes off Hardik Pandya and New Zealand need 36 off 36. Only one wicket remaining? Can it be?

WICKET! All over! Santner flicks a full ball to backward square leg and he cannot believe what he has done. India nearing a win.

Mitchell Santner is keeping New Zealand in the game as they need 50 off 45 balls. However, they only have two wickets remaining. Can the Kiwis pull it off?

Yuzvendra Chahal gets his third wicket as Todd Astle misses the sweep and is adjudged LBW. He goes for the review but there is no bat and the ball is hitting middle stump.

MS Dhoni, stunning and once again a legendary piece of quick thinking. He appealed for an LBW as Neesham was unaware where the ball went. However, Dhoni keeps appealing and moment he realises Neesham is out of the crease, he fires an under-arm throw to run him out. Advantage back with India.

Neesham blasts a four and six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar and New Zealand are making a charge. The left-hander is reaching a fifty and if he stays till the end, New Zealand could win this.

Neesham is playing a solid knock as he slams two boundaries off Mohammed Shami. New Zealand need 91 off 90 but they only have four wickets remaining.

PLUMB! Colin de Grandhomme is a goner and Chahal traps him LBW with a slider. No doubts about it and New Zealand are hurtling towards a massive defeat.

Chahal gets the massive wicket of Tom Latham and that one feels, is firmly advantage India. Latham attempts the sweep shot but misses it and is hit on the pads. The umpire has no hesitation in giving it out.

Unbelievable. The man with the golden arm does it again. Kedar Jadhav, what a bowler. Short ball on middle stump, Williamson mistimes the pull shot and holes out to Shikhar Dhawan at deep midwicket. This is a body blow for New Zealand's chances.

The partnership between Williamson and Latham is now nearing 70. India need a wicket quickly.

Williamson and Latham are stitching a solid stand but the asking rate is mounting as India build the pressure. Only two boundaries in the last seven overs.

Kane Williamson is playing a steady hand but New Zealand are facing an uphill task as India maintain the pressure. The New Zealand skipper survives a run-out chance.

Hardik Pandya strikes in his first over and Ross Taylor is trapped in front. He does not opt for the review and it is a massive wicket. Replays show that it was missing the stumps. What a body blow this is for the Kiwis.

Bad shot gets rid of Munro. Short and wide ball from Shami and Munro, without moving his feet, looks to cut but the ball takes the inside edge and flattens off stump.

Mohammed Shami strikes early in the powerplay as Henry Nicholls fails to keep the pull down and Kedar Jadhav takes the catch at mid-on. However, Colin Munro has started well while Kane Williamson is slow to get going.

Trent Boult's acrobatic run-out ends the innings in style. His superb catch off Hardik Pandya has limited damage for New Zealand and India have been bowled out for 252. Good total and the game is now evenly poised.

Matt Henry takes the vital wicket of Kedar Jadhav who was looking good. Good length off-cutter outside off, Jadhav looks to work it to the leg side but ends up dragging it back onto the stumps.

Oh dear! Sad way for Rayudu to go but it has been a fabulous knock. Full ball from Matt Henry outside off, Rayudu slices the drive but ends up hitting it straight to deep extra cover where Colin Munro takes the catch.

Rayudu is now in the zone. He blasts two sixes off Munro to ruin his figures. He has moved to 75 and India are 168/5 after 40 overs. The platform has been set and the partnership with Kedar Jadhav has gone past 50.

Catch dropped off Munro. Rayudu is leading a charmed life today. Off all people, Trent Boult spills the chance at long on. This could hurt New Zealand.

Rayudu brings up his 10th fifty with a couple of fours off Colin de Grandhomme. India need him to stay till the end if they are to reach a big total.

Oh dear! Horrible calling and Vijay Shankar's fault. Ambati Rayudu's fault one feels. Shankar pushed a full ball from Munro to mid on and wanted to set off for a single, Rayudu initially said no but once the fielder slid, he set off for the run. Shankar, though, was not ready and he makes a dash for it, the fielder fires a throw to Munro who scores a direct hit with an under-arm throw at the bowler's end. Shankar is fuming as he walks off. Has every right to be.

Rayudu launches Munro over deep midwicket for his second six and both batsmen are capitalising on their opportunities. Rohit Sharma wanted to test his players in this situation and so far, Shankar and Rayudu are acing it.

Vijay Shankar and Rayudu's partnership has crossed 50 and New Zealand will be aiming to break this stand as quickly as possible. The run-rate is still low but it can pick up soon coonsidering that a solid base has been laid.

The partnership between Rayudu and Vijay Shankar is nearing 50. If India can get to a score in excess of 250, on this wicket, it will be great.

Vijay Shankar is looking good as he flicks James Neesham to the long leg fence. India need this partnership to flourish.

A much-better over for India as James Neesham concedes nine runs, which includes four legbyes. India need a big partnership.

Matt Henry is into his seventh over and he has figures of 7-1-11-2. At the other end, Boult has figures of 6-2-12-2 and India have a big mountain to climb in Wellington.

Henry hits Jadhav on the grill with a bouncer and Vijay Shankar breaks the shackles with a boundary to deep midwicket.

Brilliant, simply sublime from New Zealand. Dhoni survived an LBW appeal and he just survived as the full ball from Matt Henry was going down the leg side. However, he does not last long as Boult produced the perfect ball which straightens on off stump and Dhoni misses it to be bowled for 1.

Matt Henry gets his second. Good length ball outside off and it sticks on to the deck, Shubman lunges forward and goes for the drive but the ball stops on him and he ends up popping a catch to Mitchell Santner at cover point.

Trent Boult now strikes and India are once again in trouble. Short ball outside off, Shikhar Dhawan fancies the upper-cut but does not time it well and Matt Henry takes the catch deep backward point. India are 12/2 in the sixth over.

Brilliant ball from Matt Henry and Rohit Sharma departs for 2. Full ball angled in on middle stump and Rohit looksto cover the line, the ball nips away late and hits the top of off stump. That is a cracking delivery. India are 8/1 in the 5th over.

So far, it has been a slow start from India. Trent Boult and Matt Henry are hitting the right lengths but there has not been much swing on offer.

Matt Henry is opening the bowling with two slips in place. Can New Zealand's bowlers get some movement on this wicket?

Here are the playing XIs from both the sides with India making some bulk changes

Playing XIs

India: Rohit Sharma(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(w), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal

Rohit Sharma opts to bat in the fifth ODI in Wellington. MS Dhoni is back. Kuldeep Yadav is being rested and Vijay Shankar is back. Mohammed Shami is in for Khaleel Ahmed.

A warm welcome to the fifth and final ODI between New Zealand and India from the Cake Tin in Wellington. MS Dhoni is back in the Indian side and he will be expected to boost Rohit's side after their woeful show in Hamilton. Can India end the series on a high?
