Indian skipper Virat Kohli once again displayed his supremacy in the sixth and final ODI match against South Africa on Friday. The star batsman magical knock of 129 runs helped India register a comfortable 8 wickets win in Centurion.

Kohli led from the front and asserted his authority on the South African bowlers who seemed helpless in front of him. The right-hand batsman smashed 19 fours and 2 sixes in his illustrious innings against the Proteas.

The 'Men in Blue' under the able leadership of Kohli clinched the series 5-1 and created history by winning the first-ever ODI series in South Africa. The Delhi born cricketer credited his wife Anushka Sharma for the success.

It won't be wrong to say that Kohli attacked the opposition as a one-man army. Indian head coach Ravi Shastri even hailed the skipper and said he is the world's best batsman.

Virat Kohli became the first ever crickter to score over 500 runs in an ODI series, suprassing the record of Rohit Sharma who hit 491 runs against Australia.

Virat Kohli also became the first captain to score 500 runs overtaking Australia's George Bailey who smashed 479 runs.

Virat Kohli registered his 35th ODI ton at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday. The power-packed performer became the first Indian batsman to register three centuires in a bilateral series. Earlier Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman have recorded three hundreds but not in a bilateral series.

Among active cricketers, Kohli is the second highest ODI-run scorer only behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The 29-year-old has scored 9588 runs from 208 matches at an impressive average of 58.10.

Kohli is now placed second in the list of most number of ODI tons by a captain with 13 centuries. He is only behind Ricky Pointing who scored 22 centuries during his stint as Australian captain.
