New Delhi:

India fought back on the 3rd Day of the 3rd Test after Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews hit sublime centuries as a resilient Sri Lanka challenged the hosts.

However, Ashwin claimed two quick wickets and the rest of the bowlers too struck after Mathews departure to derail the Lankan innings. At the end of Day 3, India wrested back the initiative as Sri Lanka were left reeling at 356/9. With two days of play still left and Lanka 180 runs behind in the first innings, it remains to be seen what kind of approach the Indian bowlers take on Day 4.
