All out for six.

All out for ten.

All out for eleven.

No, this is no typo error. These are the scores registered by Mali Women’s team in last three days while playing against Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania respectively. The West Africa nation scored the lowest ever total on Tuesday in an official women’s match to get their name stamped into the book of records.

On a day of records that may never be broken, Rwanda needed only four deliveries to secure a 10-wicket win after Mali were bowled out in nine overs.

Making Mali’s innings even more remarkable is the fact that only one of their batters, opener Mariam Samake, scored a run. Samake was dismissed for one, nine of her teammates registered ducks and extras contributed five runs – two byes, two leg byes and a wide.

Interestingly, in space of three days, they not only managed three lowest T20 International scores, but also became the first team to concede 300+ runs. On June 20, Uganda scored 314 runs for the loss of two wickets against Mali Women.

In response, they only managed to score mere 11 runs, to give the opposition a thumping win. Going forward, the team will look to work on their skills more, having got full Women’ T20 International status.
