New Delhi:
India women's cricket team performed exceptionally well in the recent World Cup and made the country proud by reaching the final. Though the team fell short of victory the efforts were lauded by the people.
It was the performance of Mithali Raj which caught the attention of the country. She became the first female cricketer to score 6,000 runs in one-day internationals. The outspoken attitude of Indian team captain has been met with cheers and accolades.
There are certain people on social media who believe they are the caretakers of our Indian culture. Mithali recently posted a 'post-shoot selfie' on Twitter. The trolls were quick to response on her picture.

She had to face the fury of people who not only body-shamed her but even called her names. Negative comments started pouring from people who lectured the cricketer on what to wear.Â
The talented cricketer received support from Twitterati who answered back the trolls. Many people objected to the moral policing and voiced their opinion in favour of Mithali.Â
This is not the first time a cricketer is facing the brunt of social media trolls. Irfan Pathan and Mohammed Shami were slammed on social media for the pictures they posted with their wives.Â
