Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is one of the iconic figures of Indian cricket and the only captain to have lifted the ICC Cricket World Cup after the 1983 feat achieved by the Kapil Dev-led Team India. However, following the 3-1 ODI series win against West Indies, the rumours and speculations surrounding Dhoni’s retirement has grown further after he was dropped from the T20I sides in the series against Windies and Australia.

Few reports have surfaced that the World Cup-winning skipper would be hanging his boots from the limited formats of the game. Dhoni had earlier announced his retirement from the red ball cricket in December 2014. But whether he will really retire or not is to be seen.

In the series against Windies, Dhoni failed to cross 10,000 run mark in ODI cricket while playing for India.

However, Dhoni achieved a new feat by taking over former South African wicket keeper Mark Boucher to take up the No.3 spot with the most dismissals behind the wickets after crossing the 424 mark. Only, Adam Gilchrist (472) and Kumar Sangakkara (482) are ahead of Dhoni.

India have cliched the ODI series against Windies by 3-1 with Virat Kohli being named as the Man of the Series after notching up 420 runs with three centuries.

Team India will now gear up for the three-match T20 series against  Windies, where Rohit Sharma will take up the command from Kohli, who has been rested for the series against Australia.
