RESULT: Kolkata beat Punjab by 7 wickets (Shubman Gill 65, Mohammad Shami 1/15)

With that SIX from Dinesh Karthik's bat, Kolkata need just three runs.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that Kolkata Knight Riders are on the driver's seat. They came with a set plan and have been able to execute it perfectly. Shubman Gill is playing with maturity as Kolkata is just 18 runs away from a famous win.

WICKET: Finally, Russelll departs. He tried to clear the fence again, but not this time! Shami provides the breakthough. And guess what? Andrew Tye takes the catch.

50-run partnership between Andre Russell and Shubhamn Gill.

Brutal. Sheer Power. Lost of adjectives to define this human. Absolute delight to watch - ANDRE RUSSELL.

Oh dear! What have you done! DROPPED Andre Russell on 14! Mayank Agarwal would be kicking himself for that mistake. After 14 overs, it's 145/2.

MILESTONE ALERT: Andre Russell gets to 500 IPL runs!

Pressure..Pressure! Andrew Tye is under serious pressure!

So Andre Russell has joined Shubhman Gill in the middle. Gill is playing positively and utilizing his experience. He has played Ranji matches in Mohali for Punjab, and has been able to do everything right. After 13 overs, it's 128/2.

ALERT: Shubhman Gill gets to his 4th IPL fifty!

WICKET: Ravichandran Ashwin tossed the ball up and Robin Uthappa just couldn't clear the fence. Robin Uthappa departs after yet another start. Skipper strikes.

Robin or Robbie but he is looking really good out there. Shubhamn Gill is also playing with responsibilty and KKR is 90/1 after 9 overs.

After a blistering innings of 46 off 22 balls, Chris Lynn departs! Kolkata, at the end of the powerplay see themselves 62/1.

Punjab 183/6 in 20 overs vs Kolkata (Sam Curran 55, Sandeep Warrier 2/31)

ALERT: Sam Curran slams maiden IPL fifty!

The penultimate over of the innings went for 10 runs and Russell was able to send the Punjab's skipper. After 19 overs, it's 161/6.

WICKET: Knocked him over! Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin departs for yet another DUCK. Russell bowled a slower one and Ashwin just couldn't read it.

150 up for Kings XI Punjab in 18th over!

WICKET: Gurney bowls a slower one and Mandeep Singh couldn't clear the 30-yard circle. Easy catch for Robin Uthappa.

Oh dear! Rinklu Singh drops Sam Curran. How expensive can this be?

Runs have been hard to come by. Mandeep Singh is smashing a boundary or two on every fourth delivery but the hosts need more than that at this stage. After 16 overs, it's 132/4.

WICKET: Oh dear! Mayank Agarwal was looking good and has lost the wicket in worst fashion possible. RUN OUT!

The run-rate has come down by some margin after Nicholas Pooran's wicket. However, Mayank Agarwal and Mandeep Singh are trying to rebuild Kings XI Punjab's innings. After 13 overs, 109/3.

100 up for Kings XI Punjab in 12 overs! Mayank Agarwal is still at the crease.

WICKET: 48 for Nicholas Pooran and one has to say, he has done the job for his side. Rana had the last laugh.

The first leg of the innings is slightly in host favor. Mayank and Pooran are looking in good touch as they are able to end 10 overs at 84 for the loss of two wickets.

50-run partnership between Nicholas Pooran and Mayank Agarwal. The duo took 29 balls to reach the milestone.

After losing the opners early, Kings XI Punjab has made a small comeback as Nicholas Pooran being able to hammer the ball all-around the ground. After 8 overs, 68/2.

50 up for Kings XI Punjab in 6.4 overs! Nicholas Pooran is looking solid.

The powerplay belongs to the visitors as they have been able to send the openers back to the pavilion. In a must win game, Punjab has lost two in-form players. However, Nicholas Pooran is looking good. After 6 overs, it's 41/2.

WICKET: Sandeep pitches a short of a length delivery and Gayle tried to smash it over mid-wicket fielder but falls short by some margin. Openers are back to the pavilion. OUT for 14.

So Punjab has lost the first wicket in form of KL Rahul and the onus to build Punjab's innings will be on Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal. After 3 overs, it's 19/1.

WICKET: Sandeep Warrior bowl a slower one and KL Rahul just couldn't time it. Departs for 2.

Here are the playing XI for two sides:

Kolkata Knight Riders: Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik(w/c), Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Piyush Chawla, Sandeep Warrier, Harry Gurney

Kings XI Punjab: Lokesh Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran, Ravichandran Ashwin(c), Sam Curran, Simran Singh(w), Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Andrew Tye

TOSS: Kolkata opt to bowl

The toss is scheduled to happen at 19:30 pm (IST) from now and team winning the toss will look to have a bat first, as chasing been comparatively difficult at Mohali wicket. However, this remains to be seen if the toss-winning captain goes with same mindset.

If they wish to be in the scheme of things, two teams have to win their remaining two games, and the one who lose today will virtually be knocked out of the tournament.

With four teams still in contention, the game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab prove to be a must win game for two sides.

Hello and a warm welcome. We are all set to witness another crackerjack of an encounter as Ravichandran Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab hosts Kolkata Knight Riders at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
