Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth enters the quarterfinal of  Denmark Super Series Premier 2017 in the Men's Singles (MS) by defeating the current world champion Viktor Axelsen in a three march game by 14-21, 22-20 and 21-7 on Friday.

Earlier, Saina Nehwal lost her shot in the last eight match in straight games to Japan's Akane Yamaguchi who is also the defending champion by 21-10, 21-13 in the quarterfinals. 

On the other hand Indian number two shuttler H S  Prannoy lost to top seed Son Wan-Ho of South Korea in straight games of 21-13 and 21-18. 
With his entry in the semi finals of the Denmark Open Super Series Kidambi Srikanth keeps the Indian hopes alive.  

ViktorAxelsen won the World Championship in Glasgow in two sets against Lin Dan (22:20, 21:16) and became the third Danish player to ever become a world champion (Peter Rasmussen 1997 in Glasgow & Flemming Delfs 1977 in Sweden). Axelsen, with a record of 4-3, is the only top twenty player to hold a winning record against Lin Dan.

The 2017 Denmark Super Series Premier is the ninth Super Series tournament of the 2017 BWF Super Series. The tournament is taking place at Odense Sports Park in Odense, Denmark from October 17 and will continue till October 22, and has a total prize of $750,000.
