The Pulwama terror attack has angered India and the sporting fraternity. Cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir advocated an aggressive stance on social media. There have been fans on social media who have vented their fury on Twitter and Facebook, with many calling for the Indian cricket team to boycott their ICC Cricket World Cup game against Pakistan in Manchester on June 16. Players like Saina Nehwal, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli all offered their condolences to the families. Viswanathan Anand, the five-time World Chess champion, paid his tribute to the CRPF jawans. Bajrang Punia, India’s ace wrestler, called for people to not share fake news on Whatsapp. Amidst all this, there has been several sporting personalities and organisations who have promised to go the extra mile to help the CRPF jawans. Vijender Singh: Donating one month’s salary for the martyrs of Pulwama Terror Attack.

Virender Sehwag: Promises to take complete care of the education of the children of RPF jawans martyred in Pulwama in Sehwag International School, Jhajjar.

Yogeshwar Dutt: Pledged to contribute Rs 5,25,000 to the CRPF and every year and will donate the first salary of the month to the families of the CRPF jawans who were killed.

Vidarbha - Donated their prize money Rs 10 lakh after winning the Irani Cup by beating Rest of India.

Shikhar Dhawan – has promised to make a donation for the victims.

Adhiban B, WGM Bhakti Kulkarni and WGM Soumya Swaminathan made their donations of ₹5000 each and Vidit Gujrathi donated 5000 each and are part of a blitz tournament to raise funds for the CRPF jawans killed in Pulwama terror attack and all proceedings towards this tournament will go to the Bharat ke Veer corpus.

BCCI acting president CK Khanna has appealed to Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai to sanction at least Rs 5 crore for the families of the Indian soldiers.

The target, following the Pulwama attack, seems to be cricket this time and with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 less than 100 days away, there are mounting calls from many Indian quarters to boycott the clash against Pakistan which will take place on June 16 in Manchester. The ramifications of a boycott will be hard on India, the ICC and the World Cup in general but the country is angry following the attack which killed 40 CRPF jawans. There has been considerable amount of talk from both sides regarding the India vs Pakistan situation in the aftermath of the Pulwama Terror attack.
