Second seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark has waded into the women's singles quarter-finals of the Australian Open. She defeated 19th seed Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 in just 63 minutes.

With this win, Wozniacki’s chance to regain the No 1 ranking in women's tennis is further consolidated.

She will face Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain in the quarterfinals. She has never won a Grand Slam singles title.
