India's Sania Mirza and her women's doubles partner Barbara Strycova crashed out of the BNP Paribas Open after being handed a straight sets defeat by Switzerland's Martina Hingis and Taiwan's Yung-jan Chan in the quarter-finals here.
The Indo-Czech pair, who had won the Cincinnati Open and Toray Pan Pacific Open last year, suffered a 4-6, 4-6 loss against Switzerland's Martina Hingis and Taiwan's Yung-jan Chan in the quarter-final match that lasted an hour and 20 minutes here.
Earlier, the pair defeated Sara Errani of Italy and Alicja Rosolska of Poland 6-2, 6-3 in the previous round.
