Roger Federer on Sunday trounced his arch rival Rafael Nadal in straight sets to win his 3rd Miami Open title.

Federer defeated Nadal 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the men's singles title. This is Federer's 91st ATP tour title, 26th Masters title and 3rd Miami Open title.

Arch rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal once again clashed against each other in a title clash as the two gladiators of tennis took to the court in the finals of the Miami Open. The grand finale was the 37 encounter of their long-standing rivalry.

The Swiss maestro overcame a stiff resistance from Tomas Berdych to win his three-set semifinal encounter and book his place in the grand finale. Federer has showcased a lot of character and resilience, working past a difficult draw to reach the finals, while his opponent Rafael Nadal has been in splendid form all through the event to seal a spot in the semis.

The stage is set for another intriguing clash between these two giants of Open Era tennis.

The match will be the 23rd final encounter of this storied rivalry, with the winner accounting for an unbelievable 54th Masters Series title. Nadal has 28 of those glistening trophies, while Federer has stashed away 25 titles in his overflowing cabinet of silverware.

So the fans are all set for a blockbuster clash when the two greatest players in modern tennis history battle it out for the Miami Open title.
