It was curtains for India in the mixed doubles at the US Open with Rohan Bopanna and his Candian partner Gabriela Dabrowski bowing out of the event in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The French Open champions Bopanna and Dabrowski lost an epic three set encounter to third seeded team of Hao-Ching Chan and Michael Venus. The Indo-Canadian pair lost the quarter-final encounter in three closely fought sets Bopanna and his Uruguayan partner Pablo Cuevas had crashed out of the men's doubles event losing to the Italian pair of Simone Bolelli and the temperamental Fabio Fognini.

Leander Paes and Purav Raja had already lost in the second round of the men's doubles and the veteran did not compete in the mixed doubles. Sania Mirza is still in the fray in the women's doubles with her Chinese Shuai Peng. Sania and Peng shall be taking on A. Hlaváčková and T. Babos in the quarterfinals later on Wednesday.
