In a stunning turn of events, WWE has announced a change in Undertaker’s match at the Greatest Royal Rumble which will take place later this month.
Undertaker, who returned to the ring at Wrestlemania against John Cena was supposed to face the Bulgarian Brute Rusev but WWE has decided to change the match.
Rusev, a popular face on Smackdown Live has been pulled out from the match and the deadman will now face a future WWE Hall of Famer.
The Phenom will now face six-time world champion Chris Jericho.
Y2J was announced as a replacement for Rusev in an out of nowhere statement by WWE.
"In a stunning turn of events, The Undertaker will battle Chris Jericho in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble," said WWE.
"Originally, the Casket Match was to be between The Deadman and Rusev. However, Lana, who originally showed public support for her husband competing against The Undertaker, recently tweeted second thoughts over The Bulgarian Brute competing in the grisly bout."
Rusev is reportedly unhappy about the way his character is being pushed in WWE and wants to end his contract sooner than later.
In the first Casket Match at the Survivor Series in 1992, Undertaker defeated Kamala and since it has become one of his speciality matches, Hell in the Cell being the other.
The Undertaker and Y2J has faced numerous times but have never gone face to face in a match of this profile. They last met in the 2010 Elimination Chamber Match, where Jericho defeated Taker to grab the World Heavyweight Championship.
In the other matches, Brock Lesnar is set to go fight Roman Reigns again but this time in a Steel Cage Universal Championship match, and John Cena will face the King of Kings Triple H.
