New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, who is playing his last Test for his country created a record for the fastest Test century on the first day of the second Test against Australia when he hit 100 runs in just 54 balls.
The flamboyant Kiwi took the Australian bowlers and smashed them to all parts.
With 16 fours and four maximums, McCullum achieved the feat surpassing West Indies' Viv Richards and Pakistan's Misbah-ul-Haq century of 56 balls.
Playing his 101st Test, McCullum counter-attacked high-flying Aussies, when Kiwis were reduced to 32 for three.
On the way, he also surpassed the record for most Test sixes when he hit his 101st, which was earlier with former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist.
The Kiwi will retire from International cricket after this Test match Hagley Oval.
