The Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Warner Park witnessed yet another high scoring thriller. Lendl Simmons magnificent 90 had helped Trinbago Knight Riders reach 216/4. In response, Evin Lewis blasted 45 off 21 balls and Carlos Brathwaite smashed an aggressive 64. However, both key batsmen fell and St Kitts and Nevis needed 19 runs in the final over bowled by James Neesham. After conceding a couple and being smashed for a four off the first and second balls, Trinbago Knight Riders still had a decent chance.

After a single off the third ball, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots needed 12 off 3 balls. However, Neesham bowled a no-ball and the bowler fumbled in effecting the run-out as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots needed 9 off 3 balls. The fourth ball was another couple and on the fifth ball, the fielder at long off fumbled as five runs were needed off the last ball. On the sixth ball, Neesham's poor luck continued as Rayad Emrit found the outside edge and it raced away to the third man boundary as the match went into the super over.

With St Kitts and Nevis Patriots now having the momentum, primarily due to Carlos Brathwaite's knock, Trinbago Knight Riders suffered a brain fade. The super over was given to USA's Ali Khan and Brathwaite was on strike. The first ball was duly dispatched for a six and the next two balls saw singles. On the third ball, there was tension as Ali Khan and Evin Lewis almost came to blows after the bowler came in the way but Kieron Pollard, the Knight Riders skipper and Brathwaite calmed the situation. The fourth ball was a dot but Brathwaite ended the super over in style by hammering a six over deep midwicket and blasting the last ball for a four down the ground.

Brathwaite, who had starred with the bat in the regular innings and in the super over, was given the task to bowl and he delivered in grand style by conceding only five runs and taking a wicket.
