New Delhi:

Cheteshwar Pujara has been one of the pillars for India’s success in the ongoing four-Test series against Australia. His centuries in Adelaide and Melbourne were historic and it ensured India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In Sydney, Pujara continued the great run as he blasted his third ton of the series, joining an elite club and although he missed a double century, Pujara had done more than enough to ensure that India would break their hoodoo and potentially secure a Test series win in Australia. However, the exploits of Rishabh Pant showed that the youngster is here to stay as the keeper of the Indian Test side. His attacking century helped India reach a score which would make it very hard for Australia to achieve a win. Both batsmen broke records during their knocks. Here is a list

1258 – Number of balls faced by Cheteshwar Pujara in the Test series against Australia. This has broken a 15-year record for most balls faced by an Indian batsman in Tests Down Under. The previous record was 1203 balls by Rahul Dravid in the 2003/04 series which India drew 1-1.
