Legendary racer Milkha Singh on Sunday flagged of third ‘Run for the girl child’ mini marathon organised by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Maharishi Dayanand University campus.
On the occasion, Milkha expressed his feelings on the social evil of gender discrimination.
"Whether it be a sage or a king, all have been borne by women. I too have daughters, and it saddens me that people think of daughters as a burden. It is definitely our responsibility to make sure that women succeed in all spheres of life, and I wholeheartedly support IIM-Rohtak's noble initiative," said Singh.
He also mentioned about the fact for which he does not go and watch cricket. He seemed disappointed with the cases of match-fixing which in accordance have reduced the sportsmanship feeling.
“I am disappointed with the cases of match-fixings and I don’t watch cricket because these fixings have reduced the sportsmanship of the game,” said Milkha Singh.
