And one will have to say, in the end, it was India who held their nerves and managed to upstage Australia comprehensively in the end. FOURIndia win by six wickets!

Scores are level.

SIX over long on and just 5 runs more required for India. what an innings Kedar Jadhav is playing.

Just 19 runs more needed off 21 balls for India to go one-up in five-match ODI series.

Both Dhoni and Jadhav are scripting a beautiful run-chase for India is all one can say the moment. Pure class. After 44 overs, India is 200/4.

MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav are still at the crease as the final leg of the first encounter begins. India requires 55 runs in last nine overs, and if these two stay at the crease, the game will end way before one can expect. Post 41 overs, 182/4.

Indian batsmen have finally started to middle the ball and runs start to float for India. The partnership is now over 50 runs and looking to score even more. In 38th over, MS Dhoni struck 10 runs as India's total goes to 168/4.

The partnership notches up to 42 runs and it wouldn't be wrong to say that India is looking better than before. Both Dhoni and Kedar are into their 20s are looking well settled. The Australian team is looking a little tense now. After 35 overs, it's 147/4.

Slowly and steadily the partnership between Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni has notched up to 26 runs off 40 oddballs. Though the number is small, this is the hour requirement from India's perspective. Australia is eyeing for MS Dhoni to stamp their authority on the hosts. After 32 overs, India has scored 131/4.

Adam Zampa back into the attack. Dhoni and Rayudu have played over 40 balls between them and have scored half the runs. As the match is progressing, it is becoming difficult for the batting team to time the ball. After 29 overs, India is 121/4.

Now the Indian team has lost three wickets in quick succession. Kedar Jadhav has replaced Rayudu at the wicket, probably earlier that he would have expected. Dhoni and Jadhav are playing defensively and looking to build a partnership. After 26 overs, it's 110/4.

WICKET: Adam Zampa bowled away from the right-hander and there was just a slight nip from Rayudu's bat - through to the keeper.

With MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu out in the middle, it's important to take it as an opportunity and pace the innings. As of now, the duo is looking to get themselves in, before taking on the opposition bowlers. After 23 overs, it's 98/3.

WICKET: Rohit Sharma tried to up the scoring rate and flicked the ball on to the leg side. However, the ball went straight to the 30-yard fielder as India lost their THIRD.

Losing Virat Kohli for 44, it was believed that India for once will come on backfoot. However, nothing of this sort happened as the local boy Ambati Rayudu is making it look easy. After 20 overs, it's 95/2.

Nothing had changed till the 16.5 overs, however, just when I was about to update, wrist spinner Adam Zampa bowled a beauty of a delivery to send skipper back. In the end, it was a successful review for Australia. After 17 overs, it's 80 for 2.

Rohit Sharma is slowly freeing his arms. Virat, on the other hand, is steadily pacing his innings. India continues its chase and is looking pretty comfortable while doing so. Kohli and Rohit carry on their partnership as they bring up a 50 plus run stand already. After 14 overs, it's 57/1.

50 run stand between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma is making it look easier than it actually is. Both have smashed the ball all around the ground to eventually pace the chase. After 11 overs, it's 48/1.

India emulated Australia at the start of the innings as they lost Shikhar Dhawan for a duck. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have come strongly to tackle the new ball. The duo has built a partnership of 25 runs as of now. After 8 overs, it's 29/1.

Virat Kohli took 9 balls to open his account but still looking really charged up to chase the target. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has played two delightful shots. India trying to up the scoring rate as the skipper scores two boundaries in the sixth over. After 6, it's 22/1.

After losing Shikhar Dhawan in the second over, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are taking their time to rebuild the innings. After 4 overs, it's 9/1.

WICKET: Shikhar Dhawan tried to start the innings in fine fashion as he drives through the cover region. However, the ball didn't come on to the bat, as the ball went straight into the hands of point fielder. OUT for a DUCK.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are out in the middle as team India begin their chase.

India needs 237 runs to go one up in the five-match ODI series. With the likes, of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli involved in the setup, the target shouldn't haunt India at all. But will this happen? Find out.

Australia started the innings on a quiet note, losing skipper Aaron Finch early in the innings. However, Marcus Stoinis along with Usman Khawaja registered an 87-run partnership to get things back on track. But once Marcus departed, the road became tougher for Australia. Glenn Maxwell did play a cameo but wasn't enough. With this, at the end of 50 overs, Australia finish at 236/7

Nathan Coulter-Nile and Alex Carey are trying to help Australia reach a respectable total. After 47 overs, it's 216/6.

Kuldeep Yadav completes his quota of overs and finished with two important wickets. Coulter-Nile and Alex Carey are definitely not looking comfortable against the spin and superb move by Kohli. After 45 overs, it's 196/6.

Kedar Jadhav is doing the job for his skipper. Seeing that bowling card, it looks as if Virat Kohli isn't satisfied with Vijay Shankar's three-over spell as Jadhav completes his seventh over. After 43 overs, it's 187/6.

Mohammad Shami is having a dream day today. After registering two maiden overs at the start, Shami has picked two important wickets. First Ashton Turner and now Glenn Maxwell. After 40 overs, it's 173/6 and Australia is in trouble.

Another start for an Australian batsman but wasn't able to convert it in a big score. Shami's discipline finally paid him, bowled a good length delivery and knocked Aston Turner's wicket. Fifth WICKET down for Australia. After 38 overs, it's 169/5.

Every time it looked like Australia have a move on, India has managed to pick up a wicket or two. Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav have assisted the conditions beautifully and managed to bowl in the right areas. With this, the duo has picked three wickets between them. After 36 overs, it's 161/4.

After Handscomb went back to the pavilion, the onus is on in-form Glenn Maxwell to take Australia to a respectable total. As of now, India is on top with Kuldeep Yadav denting opposition's middle order. After 33 overs, it's 142/4.

Glenn Maxwell along with Peter Handscomb have been able to find the gaps on almost every occasion. It wouldn't be wrong to say that they have come strongly after losing two wickets in quick succession. And just when the duo was going strong, Kuldeep Yadav sends the latter back to hut with a beautiful delivery. After 30 overs, it's 133/4.

Glenn Maxwell continues his good run against India and starts positively. After 28 overs, it's 118/3.

Two new batsmen at the crease, after some brilliant blend of bowling and fielding by Men-in-Blue. After 25, it's 101/3.

WICKET: After registering his sixth ODI fifty, Usman Khawaja tried to up the scoring rate and target Kuldeep Yadav. He went down the track and thought to clear the rope, but excellent display of work in the outfield by Vijay Shankar led him to walk back to the pavilion.

FIFTY: Usman Khawaja ticks one down to the fine leg to bring up his sixth ODI fifty.

India finally managed a breakthrough and the rebuilding phase begins for Australia. After 21 overs, it's 91/2.

Jadhav bowled a short of a length delivery, and Marcus Stoinis tried to smash it over the mid-wicket fielder. However, the ball came lower the waist height and Stoinis wasn't able to time it; went straight into the hands of Virat Kohli.

WICKET: Kedar Jadhav helps India to send in-form Stoinis back into the pavilion. OUT for 37.

Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis have steadied the Australian innings after Finch's early dismissal. Virat has introduced his favorite aide Kedar Jadhav as India eye for a much-needed breakthrough. After 17, it's 75/1.

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami through the line and maintained all-important pressure, however, Vijay Shankar and Kuldeep Yadav haven't been able to continue that pressure going. Marcus Stoinis and Usman Khawaja have registered a 50-run stand and eyeing for more. After 14 it's 64/1.

Boundaries have finally started to float for Australia. Both Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis took a while to assess the conditions, but now they are looking solid. Though the score is still not much, Australia management would be happy to see this progress. After 11 overs, it's 45/1.

ALERT: First TIME in 13 ODIs India have failed to pick two-plus wickets in the first ten overs. Last was the Guwahati ODI against WI.

First SIX of the innings. Usman Khawaja comes down the track to Kuldeep Yadav and times it to perfection over long off. Off she goes.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that India is right on top. Mohammad Shami and Bumrah have bowled four over apiece and haven't given anything to Australia. After 8 overs, it's 23/1.

Mohammad Shami has been bowling at his absolute best and giving nothing to the men-in-yellow. With a blend of both in-swing and out-swing deliveries, Shami has bowled two maiden overs in his three.

India team has been able to build pressure on the Australian batsmen which eventually led Aaron Finch back to the pavilion. Usman and Marcus haven't been able to find the gaps. After 4 overs, Australia is 13 for 1.

First BOUNDARY of the game; comes from Marcus Stoinis' bat. Off and running.

WICKET: Finch departs for another duck as Australia lose their first.

Mohammad Shami starts with a maiden over.

Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja are out in the middle and Virat Kohli will start with Mohammad Shami.

Two teams come to the middle as the teams join for their respective national anthems.

For Australia, Alex Carey comes in the team, Jhye Richardson misses out. India has also rested Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja comes in.

Ashton Turner, the Western Australia lad will make his debut in this match.

TOSS: Australia wins the TOSS and opts to bat first.

And it's TOSS time at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The two captains are out in the middle to face the heat in the sunny afternoon.

We are all set to witness another crackerjack of an encounter between India and Australia, and two teams are gearing up. The series will also be India's last assignment before the forthcoming World Cup. So, how will India approach this series?
