India vs Australia, 1st T20I HIGHLIGHTS: Australia beat India by 3 wickets to take 1-0 lead in two-match T20I series

In the nail-biting encounter, it was Australia who held their nerves to clinch a superlative victory. Australia wins the first game by 3 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in a two-match T20 series.

India started the innings on a quiet note, having been able to score just one of the first over. However, India upped the scoring rate smashing two boundaries of the second over.  In the third over, India lost their vice-captain, Rohit Sharma, as he tried to play a scoop to Jason Behrendorff and wasn't able to time it to perfection. After first five overs, the game slightly tilts in favour of Australia with India managing to score 38 for 1 in 5 overs. (LIVE SCORECARD)

In the next leg, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli put up a partnership of over 50 runs before Virat Kohli departed. His departure led Rishabh Pant to the crease, and India had left-right and combination at the crease for the first time. However, as soon as India was going ahead in the game, Behrendorff produced a brilliant piece of fielding effort to send Pant back to the pavilion. After the first 10 overs, India lost two wickets in quick succession, putting Australia ahead in the game. Losing KL Rahul and Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya further dented India's batting order. From here, the road is only looking tougher. However, MS Dhoni is still at the crease, who is also India's last hope. In the last five overs, India managed to score just 20 runs. (LIVE SCORECARD)

Nathan Coulter Nile has been the pick of the bowler picking three main wickets to haunt India's batting. From being 80 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, India was reduced 109 runs for 7 wickets. With Ms Dhoni, the only proper batsman at the crease, India is struggling to rotate the strike and as Dhoni tries to deal in boundaries.  (LIVE SCORECARD)

At the end of India's innings, it wouldn't be wrong to say that the men-in-yellow came with a proper plan to give India a tough time in the middle. Except for Rahul's quick-fire 50, India doesn't have much to be proud of. Chasing a small total, all Australia needed, was a decent start. However, there was a little confusion in the middle which eventually led to a runout. In the next over, Jasprit Bumrah sent Aaron Finch for a golden duck. His departure led Glenn Maxwell to the crease who has already smashed four boundaries in 9 balls so far. From being 5 for the loss of 2 wickets, Australians suddenly saw themselves 41 for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the powerplay - Credit to Glenn Maxwell's clean hitting. Glenn Maxwell's sixth T20 International fifty led India to be all at sea and at the end of thirteenth over and it looked as if they have already fallen. However, India's wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came to bowl the fourteenth over and sent Maxwell back to the dressing room. Post this, India has managed to low the scoring rate as Australia see themselves at 98 runs for the loss of three wickets after 15 overs.

Hello and welcome to the first T20I between India and Australia from the ADA-VDCA stadium in Vizag. Australia have won only once in India and they head into the contest low on confidence. Virat Kohli's side, on the other hand, are high on confidence having achieved success in Australia and New Zealand recently.
