Birmingham:

Overwhelmed by the support from the Indian fans at the Champions Trophy, newly crowned winners thanked the large crowd turning up for the final encounter against hosts at Birmingham.

"Yehhhhhhhhh boyyyy.. Champion love the support in England .. Thanks to everyone.. Enjoy the win guys..," Suresh Raina tweeted.

India won a nail-biting encounter against England on Sunday by five runs.

"Overwhelmed! Weather, toss - all against us. But we fought as a team. Hope our win can lessen some of the pain of the tragedy in Uttarakhand," the India batsman added.

The win became all the more important for the MS Dhoni-led side with the sport hogging the limelight back home for spot fixing in the IPL-6.

Off-spinner R Ashwin, whose miserly figures of two for 15 in four overs tightening the noose around English batsmen, said the victory belonged to every Indian cricket fan.

"What an unbelievable match to seal off the Champions Trophy. Still feels surreal. A victory for every Indian cricket fan," Ashwin tweeted.

There were animated high-fives all around from the Indian team with the likes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan displaying some dance moves following a deserved victory.

For Kohli celebrations didn`t seem to end there, with the rising Indian star attempting to imitate Gangnam style moves by his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Chris Gayle, following the presentation ceremony.

English players Stuart Broad and Ravi Bopara too lauded the Indian effort.

"Well Played India. That`s a trophy that`s got away from us. I`m back in the Drugs testers room which I`m delighted about. Twice this week," Broad wrote on his twitter handle.

Bopara tweeted: "Life`s really not a fairytale I guess. Well played both teams making it a great final to watch. Well done to India. Deserved to win."

Former England captain Michael Vaughan said the Indians were the deserved winners of the tournament.

"What a fantastic tournament it has been... Brilliant cricket where every game really counted... Overall India were by far the best team.!!!," Vaughan tweeted.

"This is the best Indian side I have seen.....," he added.

Meanwhile congratulatory messages poured in for the `Men In Blue` on the social networking platform.
