IPL Auction: Top most expensive players bought in 2015

The flamboyant Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who was the hero of the previous World Cup 2011, was discarded by Indian selectors after his shoddy performances.

The stylish left-hander was even not selected for Down Under and World Cup 2015, which raised eye brows over the selectors. But, Yuvraj came back with a bang to become the highest paid player in the IPL history and bagged record Rs 16 cr.

Meanwhile, out of favour Indian wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik also bagged mammoth Rs 10.5 cr to become the second highest paid player of the year.

Yuvraj Singh: Rs 16 crore- Delhi Daredevils

The left hander was released by Bangalore after they bought him for Rs 14 cr last year. It was a fight between franchises to capture the marquee player. The Delhi Daredevils bought the stylish left hander for a whopping Rs 16 cr.

Dinesh Karthik: Rs 10.5 crore- Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Indian wicket-keeper was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore after Delhi Daredevils released him. After, MS Dhoni retirement from Test cricket, Karthik has a bright chance to get selected for the Test squad.

Angelo Mathews: Rs 7.5 crore- Delhi Daredevils

The Sri Lankan skipper was the highest paid foreign player of the year. He was picked by Delhi Daredevils ahead of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene for Rs 7.5 cr.

Zaheer Khan: Rs 4 crore- Delhi Daredevils

The Indian pacer gone unsold in first attempt but was grabbed by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 4 cr in the second attempt. Khan, last played in May 2014, before he was ruled out by an injury in his bowling arm.

Trent Boult: Rs 3.8 crore- Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Kiwi fast bowler will don the jersey of Sunrisers in his debut IPL season. He was bought for Rs 3.8 cr by Sunrisers, making him a millionaire overnight. The left handed pacer will share the new ball with Dale Steyn for Hyderabad in IPL 8.

Amit Mishra: Rs 3.5 crore- Delhi Daredevils

The leg spinner from Haryana was with Sunrisers Hyderabad for a long time. After the franchise released him, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 3.5 cr.

Aaron Finch: Rs 3.2 crore- Mumbai Indians

The attacking Australian batsman showed his class by smashing century in the opening match of the World Cup 2015. The stylish right hander was bought by Mumbai Indians after Sunrisers Hyderabad released him.
