New Delhi :

Yet another embarrassment for the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi as danger looms on it of losing out on the first semi-final of the ongoing ICC T20 World cup 2016. The ground is also scheduled to host along with three other matches from the men's event.

The danger looms after the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) failed to reach a conclusion over the sale of tickets in the RP Mehra Block, for which the ICC deadline had ended on Sunday.

The apex body wanted the block to use for branding and seating purposes, and was against it being empty in a semi-final, which is to be played on 30 March.

The Delhi High Court asked DDCA not to sell any tickets to the RP Mehra Block, which used to be the Old Club House, for them to get the necessary licences to host matches during the marquee event.

If the board follows the rule, Kotla could lose out on a total of 1,800 seats. If Kolta loses the match, M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru can be considered as alternative.

DDCA treasurer Ravinder Manchanda is hopeful Delhi will host the semi-final.
