India were 159/1 in their second innings on day three of the first cricket Test against New Zealand. The hosts, who had taken a first-innings lead of 56 runs after bowling out New Zealand for 262, were ahead by 215 runs when the stumps were drawn at Green Park.

India are 52 for 1 in their second innings, an overall lead of 108, at tea on the third day ofthe opening cricket Test against New Zealand on Saturday.

Brief Scores: India: 318 all out in first innings. India are 52 for 1 in 18.1 overs in thier second innings (LokeshRahul 38, Murali Vijay 14 batting).

New Zealand 1st Innings: 262 all out in 95.5 overs (KaneWilliamson 75, Tom Latham 58; Ravindra Jadeja 5/73,Ravichandran Ashwin 4/93).

In reply to India's 318, New Zealandwere all out for 262 in their first innings on the third dayof the opening cricket Test on Saturday.

India and New Zealand will try to make best of day three in the first Test at Green Park stadium in Kanpur.

India was bowled out for 318, New Zealand went into stumps on Day 2 at 152/1, trailing India by 166 runs. Last session was washed out due to rain. When Tea was taken, a drizzle began in Kanpur and umpires called for covers.

But as rain continued, play was called off an hour before schedule close of play. New Zealand had two dominating session before rain and unbeaten fifties from Kane Williamson and Tom Latham, who shared an unbeaten stand of 117 runs, led their team to 152/1. Lot will depend on the Indian spin duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to create problems for them on Day 3 and pick early wickets and keep India in the game.
