Day 2 was Virat Kohli's day as he created plenty of records in the Pune Test against South Africa. He shared a partnership of 150-plus with Ajinkya Rahane but Rahane fell after scoring a fifty. Kohli notched up his 10th 150+ score and ninth as skipper as he broke Sir Don Bradman's record. Kohli went past 7000 runs in Tests and 1000 against the Proteas as he notched up his seventh double century in Tests. Kohli notched up his highest individual score when he went past 250 and his 200-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja helped India cross 600. After declaring for the third straight time in this series, Umesh Yadav struck twice and Mohammed Shami got the wicket of Temba Bavuma.
