New Delhi:

Virat Kohli's Indian cricket team had arrived in Hamilton for the first ODI on the back of a 5-0 whitewash in the Twenty20 Internationals. Shreyas Iyer's maiden century and a blitz from KL Rahul helped India reach 347/4. However, Ross Taylor's brilliant century and his 138-run stand with skipper Tom Latham helped New Zealand chase down the target and win by four wickets. The Indian Cricket Team would be ruing the fact that they conceded 118 runs in nine overs during the middle overs as Latham and Taylor took the attack to the Indian pacers. Virat Kohli's side did not help themselves by bowling inconsistent line and lengths as well as sloppy work in the field where Kuldeep Yadav dropped the catch off Taylor on 11.

WICKET! James Neesham has finished the innings off and India have lost by 22 runs. Full ball and Jadeja launches the lofted shot to long off but he finds the fielder. New Zealand have taken a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. What a performance by the Kiwis. That partnership of 76 between Ross Taylor and Kyle Jamieson proved to be the match winner.

RUN-OUT! This is very poor from Chahal. The fielder at extra cover misfielded and Chahal decided to take off for the second run. He is set back for 10 and India are 251/9 in 47.5 overs, need 23 off 13 balls.

Chahal hits a boundary off Jamieson. Those two missed run-outs could prove to be the difference. India need 28 off 18 with two wickets remaining. India 246/8 in 47 overs.

Jadeja turns Jamieson for two runs and he brings up his 12th fifty. Out come the sword celebrations. India still have a chance. India need 33 off 20 balls.

Two run-outs missed in the over bowled by Hamish Bennett. Ross Taylor misses a chance off Jadeja and Chahal also survives. India are 234/8 in 46 overs, need 40 off 24 balls.

WICKET! After getting hit for a six, Jamieson gets the big wicket as Saini misses the slog. Falls for a brilliant 45 and it seems, he has done the job for India. All hopes on Jadeja now. India 229/8 in 44.3 overs, need 45 off 33 balls.

Navdeep Saini is playing a gem of a innings. He blasts Colin de Grandhomme for three boundaries in one over. New Zealand have lost the review as Jadeja misses a flick to the leg side. India are 222/7, need 52 off 36 balls.

Just two runs in the over bowled by Neesham. India need 68 runs off 42 balls with the asking rate nearing 10.

The fifty-run partnership is up between Saini and Jadeja for the eighth wicket. This has been a brilliant partnership and Jadeja's love-affair with Auckland continues. India are 204/7 in 42 overs, need 70 off 48 balls.

Saini clatters a big six off James Neesham. India are 197/7 after 41 overs, need 77 off 54 balls.

Jadeja top-edges a short ball from Hamish Bennett to the fine leg fence for a six. India need 85 runs of 60 balls with three wickets in hand. Still possible.

Jadeja and Saini are building a solid stand. Until Jadeja is out in the middle, India can still fancy their chances of pulling this off. India are 182/7 after 39 overs.

Saini hits a boundary off Colin de Grandhomme and India still have Jadeja at the other end. After 33 overs, India are 159/7, needing 115 off 102 balls.

WICKET! The break has disrupted the concentration. Shardul Thakur goes. Full ball and nipping back in sharply on the off stump line, Thakur goes for the drive and is bowled by Colin de Grandhomme. India 153/7 after 31.1 overs.

Shardul Thakur hits two fours off James Neesham as India stil continue to fight. After 31 overs, India are 153/6, needing 121 runs more from 114 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja survives a run-out chance as Colin de Grandhomme misses with the underarm flick at the bowler's end. After 30 overs, India are 143/6.

Shreyas Iyer gets a streaky boundary off Bennett and he notches up his seventh fifty. In the previous over, Neesham concedes five wides and a boundary off Jadeja. However, the bowler has his revenge as Iyer backs away and cuts a short ball straight to the keeper. India are 129/6 in 27.3 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja hits a four and Tim Southee has bowled out. 10-1-41-2 are his figures. India are 108/5 in 25 overs, needing 166 off 150.

WICKET! Another one falls and New Zealand continue to chip away. Full ball from Southee and Jadhav tries to drive on the up. He finds Henry Nicholls at shortish extra cover and he takes a sharp catch. India are 96/5 after 20.4 overs.

Shreyas Iyer breaks the shackles with a lofted inside-out six off Colin de Grandhomme over long off. India are 96/4 after 20 overs and Iyer holds the key now.

Colin de Grandhomme bowls another good over as India look to stage a fightback. After 16 overs, India are 76/4.

Big BLOW for India: In-form batsman KL Rahul falls 4. India now 71 for the loss of 4 in 13.3 overs.

Southee is bowling a brilliant spell and he is troubling Rahul and Iyer. However, Iyer breaks the shackles with a boundary straight down the ground. After 12 overs, India are 69/3.

Brilliant and that is THE Big wicket for New Zealand. Southee bowls a full ball with a scrambled seam and it nips back in, it breaches the defence of Kohli and hits the stumps. India are 57/3 in the 10th over.

Jamieson drops a return catch off Kohli and this could be costly. However, the catch was not easy at all. India are 43/2 in the seventh over.

Shreyas Iyer gets going with two boundaries off Southee as India continue to make aggressive progress. After six overs, India are 43/2.

WICKET! Maiden wicket for Jamieson. He gets this full delivery to nip back in and Shaw plays inside the line of the delivey to get beaten and the ball hits middle stump. India are 34/2 in five overs.

Coming back to the wicket of Agarwal, Southee got the delivery to straighten outside off and Agarwal could only poke it to Taylor at slip. India are 33/1 after four overs.

After 3 overs, India score 28 for the loss of one wicket

Early strike for New Zealand: India loses first wicket as Mayank Agarwal falls for 3(5).

Taylor and Jamieson have ended the New Zealand innings in style. Their 76-run stand has helped them end on 273/8. This is a decent toal and it gives them something to fight for.

Taylor clobbers a boundary off Navdeep Saini and New Zealand are on course to bat out the full 50 overs. This partnership has at least given them some hope. After 49 overs, New Zealand are 259/8.

Jamieson and Taylor have helped New Zealand reach 250. Can they now push towards 270? After 48 overs, New Zealand are 250/8.

Taylor blasts a six and Jamieson also hits a big six off Shardul Thakur. Two wides and then Taylor survives a dropped catch as he miscues the lofted shot. New Zealand are 242/8 in 47 overs.

51st Fifty for Ross Taylor and his brilliant form against India continues. Gets there by digging out a yorker from Bumrah and New Zealand are 221/8 in 45.1 overs.

Taylor slashes at a wide ball from Thakur and the top-edge almost flies to Bumrah at third man but it lands in front of him. New Zealand are 206/8 in 43 overs.

WICKET! Chahal gets his second wicket as Tim Southee toe-ends the lofted shot to be caught by Saini at long on. New Zealand are 197/8 in the 42nd over.

WICKET! Chahal strikes and New Zealand continue to suffer. Loopy ball that sticks on the deck, Mark Chapman only manages to chip the delivery back to the bowler. New Zealand are 187/7 after 37.4 overs.

WICKET! Terrible shot in the circumstances and New Zealand sink further. Thakur bowls a length ball which sticks on the wicket and Colin de Grandhomme mistimes the slog over deep midwicket and he holes out to the fielder. New Zealand are 185/6 in 37 overs.

WICKET! Suicidal stuff from the Kiwis and Neesham falls. Taylor seems to be suffering from misjudgments. He taps a short ball to point and sets off for single but Ravindra Jadeja, India's best fielder, swoops in and scores a direct hit to catch Neesham short. New Zealand are 175/5 in 34.2 overs.

WICKET! Ravindra Jadeja strikes and New Zealand sink deeper. The flatter ball bowled from round the wicket, it straightens as Latham misses the sweep and the umpire raises the finger. Latham opts for the review and replays show the ball was hitting the off stump. New Zealand have lost the review and are 171/4 in the 33rd over.

WICKET! Massive wicket for India and Guptill is run-out for 79. Taylor dabs Jadeja to short third man and thinks about a single, but Guptill hesitates and Thakur fires the throw to Rahul who breaks the stumps and catches Guptill short. New Zealand are 157/3 in 29.2 overs.

WICKET! Again, a partnership was building and it is broken. The good length ball but it is a knuckle ball from Thakur, Blundell mistimes the lofted shot and it is held by the fielder. After 27 overs, New Zealand are 143/2.

Guptill continues to grow in confidence as he thumps Shardul Thakur to the wide long on fence and New Zealand are 133/1 in 25 overs.

In the previous over, Guptill survived a very close LBW shout as the bat was near the pad. Kohli did not opt for the review. Had he opted for it, Guptill was a goner. The ball had hit pad first and then bat. New Zealand are 125/1 after 23 overs.

Guptill continues to bat confidently and he cuts a short ball from Jadeja to the third man fence. After 22 overs, New Zealand are 123/1.

Tom Blundell gets going with a couple of boundaries off Navdeep Saini as New Zealand continue to score at a good rate. After 21 overs, New Zealand are 118/1.

Guptill notches up his 36th fifty with a square cut off Chahal. However, India's bowlers have pulled things back in the last couple of overs. Guptill ends the over in style with his third six. After 19 overs, New Zealand are 104/1.

WICKET! Superb bowling from Chahal and India finally have the breakthrough. Flighted delivery on the middle and leg stump line, Nicholls misses the sweep and is hit on the back leg. India appeal and the umpire raises the finger. With just a milli-second to go, Nicholls goes for the review but replays show the ball is just brushing leg stump. New Zealand are 94/1 after 17 overs.

Chahal puts down a sharp chance from Nicholls as Guptill nears his fifty with a six off the legspinner. New Zealand are 85/0 after 15 overs.

Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls are taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. New Zealand are 74/0 after 14 overs.

Henry Nicholls hits two fours off Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur as the partnership has crossed 50. New Zealand have started well and after the end of the powerplay, they are 52/0 after 10 overs.

Superb batting from Guptill. He has a superb record at Eden Park. He glances Bumrah for two fours to fine leg as the bowler errs in his line. He then cracks a six over third man which sails into the second tier. After eight overs, New Zealand are 43/0.

Martin Guptill hammers two fours off Jasprit Bumrah. One is a,lucky boundary as he gloves a short ball but flies over Rahul while the next one is a proper smash to the wide long off fence. After six overs, New Zealand are 26/0.

Henry Nicholls thumps a full ball down the ground fom Shardul Thakur for a boundary. India are 17/0 after five overs.

Martin Guptill looks to drive and gets almost beaten by a good length ball that nips back in off the deck. Shardul Thakur appeals for the LBW but replays show there was an inside edge. New Zealand are 4/0 after three overs.

Jasprit Bumrah bowls in the right areas and channels. New Zealand are 3/0 after two overs.

Shardul Thakur is getting some swing and bounce from the hard Eden Park deck. Jasprit Bumrah will open the bowling with him. So, Navdeep Saini is first change. New Zealand are 1/0 after the first over.
