India will look to avoid whitewash humiliation when they lock horn against New Zealand in the third and last ODI of the three-match series at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday. In their absence, the task to provide the team a good start has come on the shoulders of young Prithvi Shaw and Test opener Mayank Agarwal. So far, they have shown the glimpse of their talent but failed to fire on all cylinders. Skipper Virat Kohli, who is expected to score a hundred every time he walks out there, has also been silent with the bat and India would desperately want its main man to get going.

Colin de Grandhomme finishes the innings in grand style as he thumps a full toss from Shardul Thakur and New Zealand have wn the third and final ODI at the Bay Oval by five wickets to whitewash India 3-0. Sweet revenge taken.

Superb batting from Colin de Grandhomme. Fourth fifty for him and he finally comes good. Three fours and a six by de Grandhomme off Thakur and 20 runs come in the over. New Zealand are 293/5 after 46 overs

De Grandhomme flicks a full toss from Bumrah to the deep midwicket fence and New Zealand are 273/5 after 45 overs, needing 24 off 30 balls.

Latham walks down the track and clobbers a straight drive off Saini to the long off fence and New Zealand now need less than a run-a-ball. After 44 overs, New Zealand are 265/5, needing 32 off 36 balls.

Latham smashes a four and then de Grandhomme follows with a six and a four off Shardul as 15 runs come in the over. New Zealand are 255/5 in 43 overs, need 42 off 42 balls.

Colin de Grandhomme launches a big six off Chahal and that spoils his figures slightly. Still finishes with 10-1-47-3. After 42 overs, New Zealand are 240/5, need 57 off 48 balls.

WICKET! Chahal gets his third wicket as Neesham's woes continue. Latham holds the key along with Colin de Grandhomme as New Zealand reach 228/5 in 41 overs, need 69 off 54 balls.

Another good over from Jasprit Bumrah as he concedes two runs in the over. The required rate has gone to 7. New Zealand are 218/4 after 39 overs, needing 79 off 66 balls.

Neesham gets a boundary off Saini but Jadeja ends his spell in grand style with a solitary run. He ends with figures of 10-0-45-1. New Zealand are 216/4 after 38 overs, need 81 off 72 balls.

Neesham hits a six off Shardul Thakur and Latham thumps a four as New Zealand look to fight. After 36 overs, New Zealand are 207/4, needing 90 off 84 balls.

WICKET! Loose shot and India are right back in the contest with two wickets in two overs. Short ball and swinging away wide outside off, Nicholls flashes at it and the edge is taken by KL Rahul. Ends a good knock but he should have carried in. After 32.5 overs, New Zealand are 189/4.

WICKET! That is a massive wicket for India. Ross Taylor has been the man who has gotten New Zealand out of a crisis in this series and he falls for the first time in the series. Virat Kohli takes the catch and Jadeja gets his wicket. New Zealand are 186/3 after 31.5 overs

Saini gets thumped for two fours by Nicholls while Ross Taylor is settling in. After 30 overs, New Zealand are 175/2, need 122 off 120 balls.

New Zealand are making tremendous progress with Martin Guptill smashing a six and a four each off Navdeep Saini and Jasprit Bumrah. Henry Nicholls is doing a great job and New Zealand have reached 65/0 after 10 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini end well as India finish on 296/7 after 50 overs. Good total? Looking at the nature of the pitch, it could be a good score but India have to bowl well.

WICKET! Bennett is bowling superbly in the death overs. Full and slow ball outside off, Thakur mistimes the slog a million miles in the air and the catch is taken at deep midwicket by Colin de Grandhomme. After 48.2 overs, India are 280/7.

KL Rahul blasts a six but then, he attempts a flatter six and Kyle Jamieson, who dropped the previous catch has taken a good catch. India are 269/5 in the 47th over.

Rahul and Pandey's partnership has laid the foundation for a massive score. Can they score big in the last four overs? After 46 overs, India are 261/4.

Fourth ODI century for KL Rahul. Barring that blip in Auckland, he has been sublime in the entire tour. Too bad he has not been included in the Tests. After 44.2 overs, India are 251/4.

Rahul survives a run-out chance and he responds with a four to long off. After 37 overs, India are 203/4.

Rahul continues to bat confidently and he is eyeing a century while Manish Pandey is looking in great touch. After 35 overs, India are 188/4.

KL Rahul is also nearing his fifty as he glances Hamish Bennett to the fine leg fence. India are 161/3 after 30 overs.

Shreyas Iyer continues his golden run in New Zealand as he blasts two consecutive fours off Kyle Jamieson. India need him to carry on. After 26 overs, India are 138/3.

Iyer gets another boundary off Santner as the bowler misses his length. India are 123/3 after 24 overs.

Iyer and Rahul continue to blunt the New Zealand bowling as they make solid progress. After 22 overs, India are 112/3.

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are slowly stitching a solid stand. These two need to get going if India are to reach a good score. After 17 overs, India are 85/3.

WICKET! Kohli's struggles continue in the New Zealand ODIs and it ends. Hamish Bennett gets the big fish and Jamieson continues to make a mark. Short and bowled with a cross seam outside off, Kohli mistimes the cut shot and slices it to third man. Jamieson bends low and takes a good catch. India are 32/2 after seven overs.

Prithvi slams a boundary off Jamieson to the square third man fence as he, along with Kohli, try to be aggressive. India are 29/1 after six overs.

Kohli breaks the shackles with a flat six off Southee as he looks to tackle the conditions confidently. India are 25/1 after five overs.

Prithvi Shaw gets going with a boundary to the sweeper cover fence and India are 15/1 after four overs. New Zealand pacers are getting some swing.

WICKET! Kyle Jamieson continues to impress. After his match-winning exploits in Auckland, he strikes early. After bowling some outswingers, Jamieson gets this full delivery to nip back in sharply and Agarwal is cleaned up for 1. After two overs, India are 8/1.

New Zealand are missing the services of key players like Matt Henry, Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson. They are plagued by illness and injury to key players, so much so that they had to rely on fielding coach Luke Ronchi for fielding duties. Yet, they have won the series.

A warm welcome to the third and final ODI between India and New Zealand from the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The series is already lost, but India can still take pride by winning the final ODI and taking momentum into the Test series that begins on February 21 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
