The Indian cricket team suffered embarrassment in the Hamilton ODI against New Zealand as they were bundled out for 92. Trent Boult’s spectacular haul of 5/21 in 10 overs reduced India to their seventh-lowest total in ODIs and their lowest-ever in New Zealand. Kane Williamson’s side secured a confidence-boosting win as they won the match by eight wickets. Michael Vaughan, the former England skipper, took a cheeky ‘dig’ at the Indian cricket team on their collapse on his official Twitter handle. However, he mistimed his tweet and that resulted in some savage trolling from the Indian cricket fans, who pointed out on England’s own misfortune in the Barbados Test against West Indies.
Before India’s collapse in the Hamilton ODI, England suffered an even more embarrassing fate during the Barbados Test against West Indies. Joe Root’s side were bowled out for 77, the third-time that they were bowled out for under 100 in the West Indies and in the second innings, Roston Chase, a part-time offspinner took 8/60 as West Indies defeated England by a record margin of 381 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Fans took to social media to criticize Vaughan’s ‘short-term memory loss’.

India have taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series and they will be aiming to bounce back with a win in the final ODI which will be played on Sunday at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Rohit Sharma’s side will be aiming to recover after the disaster in Hamilton and they will be hoping MS Dhoni, who was not fit for the Bay Oval ODI and the fourth ODI is back for the final match and for the three-match series.
On the other hand, England is in trouble in the second Test at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium in Antigua. Kemar Roach picked up 4/30 and he was given good assistance from Shannon Gabriel (3/45) and Alzarri Joseph (2/38) as England was bowled out for 187. On a lively pitch, the West Indies bowlers delivered and they have put Jason Holder’s side on top. Moeen Ali (60) and Jonny Bairstow (52) were the only England batsmen to score fifties while Ben Foakes chipped in with 35. The rest of the seven batsmen contributed just 39 runs. At stumps on day 1, West Indies had reached 31/0.
