New Delhi:

In the wake of Pulwama Attack in Jammu and Kashmir, DSports has suspended the telecast of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, 40 CRPF personnel were martyred when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden SUV into a CRPF convoy. The dastardly attack has left the whole nation in deep shock.

The first leg of the tournament is being hosted in Dubai, and it is expected that the knockouts will be held in Pakistan. In the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) the likes of AB de Villiers, Liam Livingstone, and other top cricketers around the world have been included by the franchises. However, the telecast has been stopped in India, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror.

The broadcast was expected to be stopped from Friday night, however, some technical limitations meant the telecast was suspended from Saturday night.

The top channel official kept the statement simple and crisp while saying that the channel has suspended the broadcast of PSL.

"We've suspended the broadcast," he said while speaking to Mumbai Mirror.

Pakistan Super League has managed to attract cricket stars from across the world to be a part of the tournament but no Indian player has ever played in the league. The tournament had no broadcasters in the country until last year when DSport bought the telecasting rights. However, the channel showing solidarity with the terror attack in Kashmir has decided to pull a plug on the telecast.

Meanwhile, the Cricket Club of India (CCI) took down the portrait of former Pakistan cricketer and now Prime Minister, Imran Khan from the restaurant wall, in the wake of the attack on the CRPF convoy in Kashmir's Pulwama.

Further, India will be playing against Pakistan in the league stage of the forthcoming World Cup on June 16. It will be interesting to see how players of the two countries take this game.
