Lahli:
Cricket fans switched on their television set in the morning to watch their favourite bastman Sachin Tendulkar bat for the last time in a Ranji match.
Anticipating a big knock, hundreds of people waited outside the stadium as Sachin came out to bat after the fall of Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket.
Sachin scored a single on the very first ball of Jayant Yadav in the 36th over. Master blaster looked in good nick and showed his class and skills at regular interval.
He scored his 115th first class fifty off 105 balls and smashed four boundaries in the process.
It was a slow but a joyful inning, as Mumbai was cruising towards the target against Haryana.
Earlier in the first innings, Sachin only smashed a straight drive off Haryana pacer Joginder sharma and add another run in the next over before being bowled out by Mohit Sharma in the 21st over of the 1st innings.
It was a good length delivery that pitched on off and came back in, but the bounce did the trick, as Sachin leaned forward to defend the ball it went through touching his elbow on the way to hit the stumps.
The hype was around since the announcement was made that master blaster will play his last Ranji match in Lahli.
Thousands of fans failed to get the ticket for the Ranji Trophy opener between Mumbai and
Hayrana played at Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli.
The cynosure of all eyes, Tendulkar have already announced his retirement from international cricket.
