Sachin, Sachin and Sachin!
Master-Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has reigned the hearts of many for the last 24 years. The final countdown has begun with the Godman of Cricket hanging up his pads after his 200th Test in Wankhede, Mumbai on Thursday.
Celebrating his successful career and wonderful farewell, News Nation organised a programme at Sharda Ashram (Sachin’s school) in Mumbai.
One of the most important institutions that played a significant role in Sachin’s life was the Sharda Ashram Vidyamandir in Mumbai. It was here that Sachin learnt the basic techniques of the gentleman’s game.
With singer Kailash Kher’s ‘Sachin anthem’ playing in the background, channel’s Ajay Kumar and Karun Kumar interacted with God of Cricket’s friends, family and audience.
The show began with singer Pallak Muchhal’s song ‘hum tere bin ab reh nahi sakte’ from Aashiqui 2 dedicated to the master blaster in her beautiful voice.
Next, Sachin’s elder brother Nitin Tendulkar also interacted with the audience and shared his memories with News Nation.
After knowing Sachin’s interest in cricket, Nitin was the one who first tried to get Sachin into an academy.
Often known as the Tendulkar who write poems, Nitin said, “Sachin was very different and an enthusiastic kid in childhood. Some people are born to be loved and Sachin is one among them.”
Sachin’s PT teacher Ms Kinse also shared the moment when Tendulkar made his first record. She said, “When I first saw Sachin I found him very ordinary, but on the ground he was extraordinary.”
Master-blaster’s friend Gautam mentioned that Sachin loved to play arm wrestling and nobody was ever able to win the game against him.
Another player, Nilesh Kulkarni was all praise for Sachin Tendulkar. “Sachin’s commitment, dedication and ‘game for it’ attitude has made him what he is today,” he said.
‘Sachinpedia’ Ajit Singh also answered several questions of audience and ‘Barco-baba’.
Actress Sangeeta Kapoor was completely in awe of Sachin. Calling Sachin a superhero, she said that the cricketer must add new feathers in his hat and play a role in some Bollywood movie.
The programme ended with another song ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ in Palak’s melodious voice.
