New Delhi:
The Sardar Patel Stadium at Ahmedabad's Motera has now become a latest talking point across the sporting arena. The stadium will be the largest of all time in terms of capacity beating even the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which holds 1,00,024 people in it. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday took to Twitter and shared a bird view images of the stadium. To this, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly responded, barely concealing his excitement to seeing the brand-new cricket ground. "Lovely to see such a massive, pretty stadium .. Ahmedabad .. have great memories in this ground as a player, captain ..grew up at Eden with hundred thousand capacity .. (not any more).. can’t wait to see this on 24th."

While responding to BCCI's tweet, the BCCI president went down to memory lanes when he used to play in the Eden Gardens which used to have a capacity of over 1 Lakhs from 1987-2011. The stadium later was revamped, and the capacity was capped at 66,000.
