Dubai:

Former Australia spinner Tim May has been reappointed to ICC’s Cricket Committee, three years after being replaced by India’s L Sivaramakrishnan in the 2013 elections.

May’s return could be seen as a reflection of changing attitudes at both the ICC and the BCCI following the appointment of Shashank Manohar as chairman and president respectively.

May, the former chief executive of FICA (the Federation of International Cricketers Associations), was voted off the committee in the 2013 elections, a report in the ‘ESPNcricinfo’ said.

Sivaramakrishnan, a former India leg-spinner, was among those who replaced him amid allegations that pressure was applied to several of the Test captains who elect their favoured representative.

Off-spinner May, who represented the Australian cricket team in the 1990s, subsequently resigned as chief executive of FICA in June 2013.
