The fifth day of the Hamilton Test between New Zealand and England was evenly poised. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor had hung in and were taking New Zealand to safety with fifties. However, an incident in the 49th over of the New Zealand innings dumbfounded not just cricket fans but it had the likes of Jofra Archer and the New Zealand on-air commentators dumbfounded with disbelief. The bowler was Jofra Archer and he was in the middle of a hostile spell to skipper Williamson. In the fourth ball of the over, Archer bowled a full ball on the pads to Williamson who flicked it uppishly to short midwicket.

Joe Denly was stationed there and he grabbed the ball. Archer was celebrating and many felt that Williamson had taken the catch. However, to everyone's horror, Denly dropped the catch and Archer was dumbfounded. The bowler stopped his premature celebration and could only laugh in disbelief. Even the New Zealand on-air commentators could not believe how Denly could drop such a catch.

However, the incident had a sense of providence for Archer. The England pacer, who has been known to predict the future accurately in his past tweets, had actually predicted that this would happen. In his tweet in February 2014, Archer had captioned, "Man Drop that?!"

New Zealand are considered the most sporting and gentlemanly team that is going around in the cricketing circles. Under Kane Williamson, the side has become a fan favorite not just in New Zealand but for fans all over the world. There is hardly any fan who might want to hate the New Zealand team for their demeanor or for their performance. Recently, this behavior has fetched them a massive reward and it is the ICC 'Spirit Of Cricket' Award. The trophy, which is named in memory of BBC broadcaster Christopher Martin-Jenkins, is awarded to the team/player most notable for "upholding the 'Spirit of the Game', involving respect for opponents, their own captain and team, the role of the umpires and the game's traditional values.
