Argentina are playing without Lionel Messi in their international football friendly match against Chile. The Barcelona start Messi is still serving a suspension. Messi was given a straight red card during Argentina vs Chile clash in the Copa America third-place play-off in July. Argentina have not played since their 2-1 victory in that match. Sergio Aguero and Paulo Dybala scored the goals for Argentina in that victory, but captain Messi sent off following an altercation with Gary Medel.
Messi was given a three-month ban from international football and a $50,000 fine for alleging the competition, won by hosts Brazil, was fixed.
