A draw to start with, India will look to register their first win when they lock horns with Tanzania in the AIFF U-16 Youth Cup football here tomorrow.

Both teams drew their respective opening matches. Tanzania drew 1-1 against USA, while India rallied to hold Malaysia 2-2 yesterday. India’s coach Nicolai Adam was not happy with the result.

“We played well and had more of the ball possession but our boys committed lots of errors and that led to soft goals.  Our boys though showed a lot of fighting abilities and came back from 0-2 deficit to hold Malaysia to 2-2, and that is a good sign. But is not enough and we need to win matches when we are dictating terms,” stated Nicolai.

Heat will not be a problem for his boys, according to Nicolai, as they have been training in such weather.

“Our opponent played well against USA and it going to be a tough match and we need to play to our potential if we have to win tomorrow,” he said ahead of the game at Tilak Maidan. Tanzanian coach Bakari Shime also insisted that it will be a difficult match against the home team.

“India are the hosts. The hosts are always the strongest.  On top of that, India have been preparing for so long. It will be a hard game,” he said in one breath. “India were physically fit and better than us. They had the momentum and they attacked.”
