Dew will not be a major factor in this game as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has preponed the time for playoffs. Earlier, the game used to start at 20:00 IST, however, the knockout stages will start half and hour early.

The toss is scheduled to take place at 19:00 IST and team winning the toss will look to have a bowl first. Not only because of the pitch and conditions offered at Chepauk, but in the knockout games, teams look to chase. However, this remains to be seen if the toss-winning captain goes with the same mindset.

Rohit Sharms, the skipper of Mumbai Indians has termed this game as 'El Classico' and this remains to be seen if it actually turns that way.

The league stage in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the dominance Chennai Super Kings at home as they lost just one out of their seven home games.
