Rio Olympics 2016: Bus with journalists attacked

New Delhi:

A bus carrying journalists during Rio Olympics 2016 has been hit by an unknown projectile, leaving two windows shattered completely. No serious injuries have been reported so far.

"We don't know yet if the bus was shot, or it was a stone," organizing committee spokesman Mario Andrada told a news agency.

Bus was carrying 12 journalist, out of them 3 received minor injuries. Two windows were shattered, with tiny chards of glass remaining in place.

The bus was traveling from the northern venue cluster of Deodoro to the main Olympic Park in the suburb of Barra da Tijuca.

This is the second incidence of violence. First one was a bomb blast near the finish line of cycling track.

The incident has raised serious concerns over the safety arrangements at Rio Olympics 2016.

Rio is deploying about 85,000 soldiers and police to secure the games, twice as many as London did four years ago.
