Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt sprinted to victory in his first individual race of the season after clocking 46.37 seconds in the 400 metres heat at the GC Foster Classic in Kingston. 

The Jamaican sprint champion came off the final curve comfortably ahead of the field, bettering his previous attempt at the distance, 46.44 seconds in 2013, Sport24 reported.

Reflecting on his performance, Bolt took to Twitter, stating that he was thankful for an injury free 400m runs.

Bolt is reportedly aiming to defend his sprint title at the IAAF world championships in Beijing in August.
